Fallen Soldiers and Fallen Trees

Who spends Memorial Day raising money for the Childs Play "High Charity" event playing massacore video games? Nick and Molly Glover do, of course. Unfortunately for Nick, Molly has a strange way of raising $42 for cancerous children... one that rivals the practical jokes at Porter's office. Nick will get his revenge, however, when he taunts Molly from the sidelines as she runs for her life in a half-marathon through a questionable neighborhood!

With inside information into the development of the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game, Molly prompts Frost to calculate the size of a Death Star game piece at 1:200 scale. While the Millenium Falcon game piece isn't quite 7" long, a Death Star would have more than a 104' diameter. For reference, imagine 10 semi-truck trailers placed side by side, then 8 high, then 2 deep. Yes, 160 semi trailers stacked in a cube... that's how big it would be at 1:200 scale. And we're talking the original Death Star... not the incomplete one from Return of the Jedi.

Nick and Molly share the joys of not having children, the wonders of Star Trek Into Darkness, and the hilarious nature of nerd-raging on feminists. Meanwhile, Frost buys a house and 24 hours later a tree falls on it, resulting in yet another Only Frost story. What's more, Frost tells a story about being the victim of headboard fraud.

In entertainment news we discuss even more cruise liner disasters, the upcoming Tom Hanks film Captain Phillips, the 15 new episodes of Arrested Development, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and the Fast and the Furious C-5 Galaxy landing scene which we speculate must have been shot at the Hana Barbara airport.

Everyone agrees it's hilarious to poke fun of foreigner's accents, that Holland is probably the cleanest country in the world, and that voice actor Wally Wingert is a complete genius when it comes to picking up chicks at sci-fi conventions. Naturally, Nick and Molly will be speaking on the topic of "Geek Relationship Advice" at CONvergence this coming 4th of July weekend, 2013.

You can get more laughs from the Glovers at the Fearless Lab directed by Nick on June 11th, by Molly on July 9th, or every second Tuesday of the month at Honey in Minneapolis at 7:30pm. They're also hard to miss as players with Vilification Tennis, both at monthly shows at the Bryant Lake Bowl, and weekends this fall at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.
